Located in the center of Konya, the project combines the cultural memory function of a city museum with the academic role of a specialized library. Shaped through an analysis of the city’s morphological transformations over time, the design aims to establish a multi-layered relationship between the building and its urban context.
The building massing is developed through a fragmented system that aligns with the traces of the existing historical fabric. The mass movements are shaped by considering both pre- and post-demolition entrances and surrounding street levels, allowing the structure to serve as a permeable and user-friendly public space within the city.

The colonnade axes and the neighborhood square proposed in the design enhance public continuity and strengthen the building’s physical and visual connection with its surroundings.

The design approach seeks to make the structure not only a museum or library, but an integral part of the city’s collective memory. Fragmented volumes enable a clear spatial and perceptual distinction between functions, while providing users with flexible transitions between open, semi-open, and enclosed spaces.

Functionally, the ground floor hosts entrance zones, exhibition and interactive areas; upper floors include reading and research spaces; and the basement contains archive and technical areas. The interior organization is based on an open circulation system that prioritizes user experience and flow.
