Located in a quiet village on the periphery of Istanbul, this house was designed for a couple seeking to escape the fast pace of urban life. Without entirely disconnecting from the city, the project was driven by a desire to live closer to nature. A site was chosen near the village center yet surrounded by greenery.

The narrow and elongated shape of the plot played a defining role in the design process. The plan scheme was shaped accordingly: the ground floor accommodates shared living spaces and a hobby room, while the upper floors are reserved for private bedrooms.

While one façade of the house is close to a neighboring building, the other three sides open more freely to the surroundings.

The orientation of the house and the interior layout were shaped by both environmental conditions and user needs. Circulation and service areas are positioned along the façade facing the neighbor, while living areas and scenic views are directed toward the open façades. This configuration creates a functional yet serene living environment tailored to its inhabitants.

Developed with a minimalist architectural approach and a modest budget, the project features wide glazed surfaces to bring in natural light, operable shutters for privacy, and natural stone cladding on the ground floor façades — all of which contribute to its distinctive character.
